PED applies to hose and coupling assemblies supplied for installation within the European Union.
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC applies to pressure equipment with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar. The Directive became mandatory on 29th May 2002.
ContiTech Beattie Limited as a reputable and responsible manufacturer of flexible hose systems to the international engineered products market using pressurised systems considers PED application to any pressurised system (including flexible hoses) should be a standard requirement to ensure a safe and reliable design. Therefore at ContiTech Beattie Limited it is part of our standard
procedure to perform a check on compliance to PED on every hose and coupling assembly.
ContiTech Beattie Limited system and design is certified by Lloyds Register Verification to supply equipment in accordance with the requirement of Module H ensuring that all enquires are checked for compliance where necessary. The directive is integrated within the companies’ ISO9001 quality management system accredited by Lloyds Register Verification, Notified Body Number 0038.
Documentation is produced incorporating analysis of the design and Essential Safety Requirements to ensure the product meets the directive.
