Investors in People Gold status, Investing in people from Scotland to Singapore
Jan 2010
ContiTech Beattie Ltd, the market leader in hose technology for the oil and gas industry, has been rewarded for its support and investment in its staff team who work from bases in Ashington, Aberdeen and Singapore .
The company has achieved the prestigious Investors in People Gold Status after a rigorous three day assessment visit, involving a period of intensive interviews with a representative sample of the 97 staff and key management about the company's people skills.
From their interviews with 23 of the 97 staff, Investors in People (IiP) identified that ContiTech Beattie Limited “has a clear purpose and vision to which everyone subscribes” and “there appears to be almost a family environment with a strong team ethos. Everyone understands where they fit within the company and the role they play in achieving its objectives.”
ContiTech Beattie, which has a turnover of £28million in a worldwide market, has been given the Gold Status only six months after the award was introduced by the IIP. Less than 1% of all Investor in People organisations in the UK achieve gold status, and this award recognises achievement of world-wide best practice.
Andrew Esson, managing director of ContiTech Beattie, said: “Our people are at the very core of our business.
“This has been a great year for us in people management and to be recognised by Investors in People at the highest level is something that we cherish. We are committed to our workforce, their general health and welfare is of great importance to us, whilst we also encourage their professional training and development
“This Gold Status helps us to underpin that ethos, receiving that IIP award shows that we have a motivated and enthusiastic staff team.”
